How It Works

We hope you will enjoy your Dove and Donkey products for a very long time but if you should decide to part with your gently used items, please send them our way. We’ll cover the cost of shipping and then resell them here. All profits from the sale will be donated to a featured organization (or two). Profits include the sale price minus any shipping and/or cleaning expenses for vintage pieces. For sample, slightly imperfect, or discontinued pieces, the profit is calculated minus the cost of goods and shipping.

CURRENT CHARITIES:

This season, we will be donating all proceeds from our Love Triangle shop to Artists For Humanity and Urbanity Dance. Both organizations promote accessibility, foster compassion and create positive environments for growth. They have been invaluable partners and collaborators as we’ve built Dove and Donkey, and we are thrilled to support them in every way that we can.

Trust us, this hand crocheted throw will not be found in the attic. It is modern and fresh, just like the colors. The Electric Yellow will add a pop to any space and the Grapefruit is heavenly. We adore the broomstick stitch and its intricate detail but it doesn’t stop there. The playful fringe adds a touch of flair.

DETAILS

This 100% baby alpaca throw has been crafted by many hands. The raw alpaca is spun using an ancient tool called the pushka, while the dying is done using both traditional and contemporary methods. It takes three weeks to knit each throw. All of this is done in collaboration with women artisans in the Arequipa region of Peru. The entire process provides meaningful employment and a fair wage, while introducing the world to the artisans’ many skillful crafts.

These shams are just what you need to complete your bed. They work equally well as a pair, or mix and match the colors to create a look of your own.

Our shams are 100% cotton and a slightly heavier weight than the cotton bedcovers but just as easy to care for. Simply follow these instructions: Machine wash cold on delicate cycle. Tumble dry low or line dry. Do not bleach. They look great in their natural state but if you prefer a more smooth texture, iron on low.

Please note that the slight variation in color and texture are all part of the hand process and make each piece unique.
