OUR COTTONS
Hand-Painted and One-of-a-Kind
Our cottons are manufactured at a small factory in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The entire process, from weaving to dying to painting, is done manually and in small batches. We love that you can see the human hand in each painted stripe. No two pieces are alike but all are created with an abundance of love and energy!
Our Flora is a botanical inspiration made of hand crocheted flowers that rest on a hand knit throw. It is both sumptuous to the touch and the eye. The clusters of cascading flowers will sit beautifully at the edge of a bed, draped on a chair, or wrapped around your shoulders.
DETAILS
This 100% baby alpaca throw has been crafted by many hands. The raw alpaca is spun using an ancient tool called the pushka, while the dying is done using both traditional and contemporary methods. It takes two weeks to knit each throw. All of this is done in collaboration with women artisans in the Arequipa region of Peru. The entire process provides meaningful employment and a fair wage, while introducing the world to the artisans’ many skillful crafts.
Material: 100% Hand Spun Baby Alpaca
Measurements: Approximately 78” x 40”
Color: Cypress, Mustard, Cloud, and Charcoal
Origin: Peru
Care Instructions:
Please note: there may be slight variations in color and pattern due to the hand-dyeing and knitting process. These characteristics make each blanket unique and are central to the handmade process.
Please keep in mind that color fading may occur if your alpaca pieces have continued direct exposure to the sun. Natural dyes are more susceptible to fading in direct sunlight.
Texture, color, and softness - this throw has it all! We adore it, so please treat it kindly: Dry clean only
